tours nationally and abroad. The Margolis Method Training Center is located
in Barryville NY, in the Delaware River Valley, just 90 miles from NYC. Kari
Margolis leads ongoing intensive training sessions from May thru September.
Kari and company members also lead workshops in New York City and Minneapolis
as well as internationally.
The Performing Company
Under the creative guidance of Kari Margolis
and Tony Brown the company has achieved both critical and popular acclaim
for its signature physically-charged approach to theater. Known for spectacular
ensemble imagery, a rapier wit and the marriage of cutting edge multimedia
technology with a muscular and emotionally rich acting style, the company
creates original thematic productions that Alan M. Kriegsman of the
Washington Post hailed as... "so exciting, so original, so unexpected
it renews your faith in the artistic future".
Margolis Method Training Center
The perfect place to hone skills, take artistic
risks and interact with artists from around the world. The Center offers
the opportunity to work intensively with master teacher Kari Margolis in an
intimate setting. In a challenging yet supportive atmosphere students are
encouraged to explore new modes of accessing creativity. Classes merge vocal
and physical expression through precise yet organic daily exercises that focus
on the actor as central to the creative process. The skill sets of actor,
director and playwright are merged to develop a powerful three dimensional
theatre artist.
The River Valley is home to bald eagles, great canoeing, fishing
and swimming. Evening activities include lectures, video showings, performances--and
a good deal of barbecuing!
